Abune Paulos elected WCRP Honorable President - August, 2007
The World Conference of Religions for Peace (WCRP) has elected Ethiopian
Orthodox Chukrch Patriarch Abune Paulos as Honorable President. He was
recommended by a number of international institutions and churches. Abune Paulos, who is also President of the World Council of Churches, was
elected for his remarkable contribution in ensuring religious tolerance,
world peace, and in fighting HIV/AIDS among others. WCRP, which is based in New York, is the largest global coalition of representatives from the world¹s religions dedicated to an enduring mission.
